Job Description:
As a Customs and Border Protection Officer with the U.S. Customs
and Border Protection (CBP), you will be at the forefront of our
nation's efforts to secure our borders and enhance public safety.
CBP Officers are responsible for enforcing hundreds of U.S.
regulations including immigration and drug laws. Positioned at
international airports, seaports, and land borders across the
United States, CBP Officers use a combination of strategic
intelligence and state-of-the-art technology to prevent illegal
entry of individuals, narcotics, and contraband into the United
States. Inspect cargo, baggage, and articles entering or leaving
the U.S. to enforce laws regulating the admission and
transportation of goods. Interrogate and inspect individuals
seeking entry into the United States to determine their
admissibility under immigration laws. Detect and prevent the
illegal entry of individuals and contraband, including narcotics
and other illegal drugs. Use a variety of technologies to observe,
monitor, and inspect cross border traffic. Prepare, type, and
review reports and forms regarding the inspection process and
seizures of contraband. Perform physical and vehicle searches as
necessary. Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in using law enforcement databases and software.
Physical fitness and the ability to pass rigorous physical
examinations. Analytical skills to assess situations and make
informed decisions. Ability to work collaboratively in high-stress
environments. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance 401k U.S.
Citizenship. Pass a CBP background investigation, including a
polygraph examination. Successfully complete a medical examination
and a drug test. Possess a valid driver’s license.
