Job Description Job Description Strategic Mission Critical is
actively looking for Mid-Level VDC associates to execute MEP design
modeling for mission critical projects. Typical project types
include working with the electrical or mechanical contractors to
provide 3D models and shop drawings based on the received project
design. This candidate shall be capable of executing basic MEP
design projects independently, taking established design criteria
to the generation of 3D models and shop drawings. The candidate
shall also be capable as serving as a day-to-day lead on large
mission critical projects under the guidance of a senior associate.
The contracted VDC scope will be a part of a broader project and
therefore this candidate should be capable of interfacing with
external design leads from other disciplines for coordination
purposes as well as the contractor whom we are contracted by to
resolve issues. The ideal candidate will be comfortable mentoring
recent graduates and junior designers, reviewing the work of
others, and collaborating with senior associates to implement broad
project goals. This candidate will have the opportunity to execute
MEP designs of mission critical projects while working and
coordinating with clients and design leads from all disciplines, as
well as serve as the daily lead on smaller projects. This candidate
shall have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
and with clients while being able to meet scheduled project
deadlines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Utilize
Autodesk Revit to produce 3D models and shop drawings for MEP
designs. Understand how to read and interpret MEP design drawings
for mission critical projects. Meet project deadlines, including
working necessary hours to complete major deliverables. Understand
client preferences and construction processes to create accurate
shop drawings and 3D models. Understand how and when to write RFIs
to submit to the client. Communicate clearly in person, on phone
calls, and over email/messaging platforms. Lead junior associates
and designers to execute delivery of specific design elements.
Mentor and train junior associates and designers to assist in
developing comprehensive VDC knowledge. Maintain excellent
organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously Qualifications: 4 or more years related experience
and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and
experience. One year of mission critical VDC modeling experience.
Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Navisworks Excellent computer
skills. Emphasis in problem solving and analytical thinking.
Experience with electrical and/or mechanical layout in Revit
preferred. Experience with Microsoft tools such as Word, Outlook,
Excel, Teams, and Power Point. Experience using construction
management tools such as Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
