Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Dish Technology Network Engineering (DTNE) team designs, implements and operates the Dish Technologys world class network infrastructure that support a wide range of services including Broadcast video, Over-the-top video (OTT), Content Delivery Network (CDN), and other data network services. We are looking for a highly talented and motivated Network Engineer to join our team to design and support all aspects of this cutting-edge, dynamic and rapidly growing network environment.Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:Design and implement next-generation networking technologies, SDN - Cisco ACI/NSO, Juniper Contrail/Apstra, VMWare NSX-T, Virtualization and Container Technologies - Kubernetes, Docker, OpenshiftDeploy/support large-scale production network in the broadcast center, datacenter and Point-of-Presence (POP) sites across national network footprintTrack, analyze, and trend our capacity on the broadcast network and datacenter infrastructureProvide Tier 3 escalated network supportPerform fault management and problem resolution in a highly complex, mission critical network environmentWork closely with other departments, our vendor community, and network service providers to ensure problem resolution and minimize time to restoralProvide a high level of critical thinking in driving successful resolution of high-impact, complex, cross-functional problemsPerform network change management, support modifications, and maintenance to complex cutting-edge network infrastructurePerform network upgrade (Software & Hardware), maintenance, and repair work as needed while limiting production network impact and meeting the high-performance requirement of the environment.Lead implementation of new systems into production networkPerform capacity planning and management of Cisco and Juniper LAN and WAN backbone network connectionsSeek out and suggest opportunities for improvement, including changes in technologies and proceduresCreate and support network management objectives, policies and procedures.Ensure that network documentation is kept up-to-dateAbility to train and assist junior engineers Skills, Experience and Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent4+ years of progressively related experienceCCNP certification or equivalent knowledge and experienceMust be able to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotationRequires high proficiency with Layer 3 routing and advanced routing technologies, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and Layer 4-7 managementMust have advanced functional knowledge of the following technologies: BGP, OSPF and IP MulticastMust have excellent communication skills, effectively interact with management, vendors and customers and should be able to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear straightforward mannerAbility to apply advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems are essentialMust have hands-on experience with and working knowledge of the following equipment:Cisco Catalyst (7600s, 6500s, 3800, 9300), ASR, ACI (N9K)Juniper QFX, MX-series, Contrail/ApstraAdvanced knowledge of data security firewalls and load balancing, including Cisco ASA firewalls, Check Point Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 load balancers, NginX, AVI, Citrix Netscaler and A10 load balancers.Works effectively with cross-functional teams and must be flexible enough to deal with different technical skill levels and skill setsAbility to deal with concurrent problems and issues effectively. Proven ability to work in a dynamic and high-pressure environmentMust be able to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotationAbility to travel at least 10% of the timePreferred Qualifications:Ability to apply advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems are essentialSupport network change management, modifications, and maintenance to complex network systemsAdvanced functional knowledge of the following technologies, including IP Multicast, SRT, Video delivery over Video on Demand (VOD), Over-the-top (OTT), Content-delivery-Networks (CDN)Knowledge of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standardsAdvanced design and implementation of the following concepts, VDC, Fabricpath, VXLAN, FCoE, and VRFExperience and knowledge of next-generation networking technologies, SDN (Cisco ACI/NSO), Juniper Contrail/Apstra, VMWare NSX-T, Virtualization/Container architecture and management (Kubernetes, Docker, VMWare Tanzu, Red Hat Openshift, Rancher etc.)Experience with AWS, Azure, GCPExperience with Cisco IOS/IOS-XR and Juniper JUNOS and Juniper Networks equipmentExperience with Cisco ASA, Checkpoint Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewalls, Tipping Point IPSExperience with load-balancing, F5, NginX, AVI, Netscaler etc.Must have excellent communication skills, effectively interact with management, vendors and customers and should be able to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear straightforward mannerSpecific experience in a technical leadership role with complex projects related to Layer 2 and Layer 3 Cisco and Juniper networking environmentsWorks effectively with cross-functional teams and must be flexible enough to deal with different technical skill levels and skill setsAbility to deal with concurrent problems and issues effectively. Proven ability to work in a dynamic and high-pressure environmentAble to exercise sound technical judgment and discipline in the execution of network changes and deployment plansAble to clearly provide status of efforts to resolve problemsThe capability to creatively approach problems not covered by existing procedures#DICE_VP#LI-VP1
