The primary responsibilities of the Engineer Intern will be to
undertake and successfully complete basic project development tasks
to include any of the following: writing and/or verifying
specifications, maintaining product/process documentation, testing
processes, equipment, raw materials, or product, and validating
equipment and processes. The First Year or someone with little to
no experience, will be hands on with our Machine Operators, and
Maintenance Technicians, understanding Footprint's technologies and
processes. Year Two or people with experience and understanding of
our tools, with work directly with our Engineering team in their
day to day tasks.
Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited university studying
towards a degree in Engineering
Desired Major in Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering
Must have and maintain a 3.0/4.0 GPA
Excellent communicator with a can-do attitude
Intern Tasks, Duties, And Responsibilities
Assigned multiple assignments and rotate through other engineering
Gain knowledge in executing the plan, functional area knowledge,
production procedures, and managing assets and quality.
Design and coordinate engineering tests and experiments.
Conduct work studies and propose process improvements to overall
Preform time studies and balancing analysis.
Create and update standardized work instructions.
Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results
to all levels including senior management.
Be a contributor on problem solving, cost reduction, quality, and
continuous improvement initiatives.
Be entitles to frequent and honest feedback.
Analyze downtime data and maintain action plans using lean
Assist with LEAN implementation activities.
Finished projects to add to portfolio.
Follow Footprints policies and procedures.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail with a
demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize
requests, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and with cross-functional
Strong communication skills including exceptional listening,
written, and verbal abilities.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
