supports their centralized global technical team in metallurgical
excellence. Job Description The Chief Metallurgist will provide
advanced technical guidance and strategic leadership in the areas
of copper smelting, electrorefining, and sulfuric acid production.
This individual will work within a centralized global support team
to drive performance and operational excellence across multiple
international sites. The successful candidate will be passionate
about continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing, and contributing
to the evolution of global metallurgy practices within the
organization. Duties & Responsibilities •Serve as a subject matter
expert on smelting, electrorefining, and sulfuric acid production
operations •Lead the development of metallurgical expertise across
teams and sites using analytical and first principles •Analyze site
performance metrics to identify improvements in cost, quality,
safety, and efficiency •Develop technical guidelines and best
practices to optimize metallurgical processes •Maintain a technical
literature repository for smelting and refining operations •Manage
vendor contracts and relationships to support testing, innovation,
and process upgrades •Participate in and lead safety-focused risk
assessments •Organize and lead technical training sessions,
seminars, and internal knowledge exchanges •Ensure alignment with
current and future regulatory and safety standards •Support other
duties and cross-functional needs as required Required
Skills/Experience •7 years of experience in metallurgy or a closely
related field, with a track record of technical leadership
•Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and manage
large-scale projects •Strong technical understanding of process
engineering within copper smelting and refining operations •Ability
to analyze complex process data and recommend operational
improvements •Excellent communication skills with the ability to
translate technical details into actionable insights •Experience
collaborating across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
•Competency in managing budgets and vendor partnerships •Proven
ability to embed safety and environmental awareness into process
changes Nice to have •Hands-on experience in copper smelting,
electrorefining, and/or sulfuric acid production •Familiarity with
process safety management and environmental compliance frameworks
•Interest in innovation and emerging technologies in metal recovery
and refining Education •Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical
Engineering, Chemistry, or a related engineering discipline OR
•Master's degree in a related discipline and 5 years of relevant
