As a leader in serving commercial customers, Wells Fargo offers financial services including credit and treasury management solutions as well as specialized expertise across industries including Technology, Food, Beverage & Agribusiness, Investor Real Estate and Government.In connection with the Commercial Banking Portfolio Services Group------s mission of supporting risk management activities, Portfolio Services is seeking a leader for the newly created hub in Phoenix, AZ. This leader will manage a team of Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts to be located in Phoenix.Nationally, Portfolio Services manages 2,200+ relationships with direct and operating exposure of up to $20 million; total credit exposure underwriting responsibilities exceed $3.02 billion. The selected candidate will be part of a team that directly participates in the credit support of the Middle Market Commercial Banking Offices (CBO's). Portfolio Services is specifically accountable for credit underwriting, routine and regular portfolio monitoring and administration, renewals and annual reviews; managing and promoting the maintenance of a portfolio that adheres to all applicable credit policies and compliance requirements. The team works directly with Relationship Managers, LTMs and other CBO team members to understand credit needs and represents the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships.A successful candidate will possess demonstrated process, leadership and credit knowledge. --The candidate will have experience in leading change with a larger organization, be an inclusive team member who has a proven record of coaching and developing others.Primary duties include:

  • Leadership: Provide leadership including business engagement and core responsibilities. --Collaborate with business leaders to create a robust and consistent credit risk process with sound quality measures. --
  • Credit Risk Management: Apply business knowledge to build an efficient credit risk management process that combines assessment, reporting, monitoring and communication.
  • Collaboration: Communicate with other Portfolio Services and Credit Portfolio Management leaders, Commercial Banking business leaders. --Developing, implementing and integrating best practices in a collaborative manner.
  • Process Improvement: --Provide direction on the analysis, selection, and implementation of continuous process improvement practices.
  • Partnership: -- Proactively develop and expand deep relationships within Commercial Banking. Utilizing established continuous feedback loop in gathering both experience-based and measureable responses. --
  • Team member development and training: Partner with available resources and current managers in the creation of a comprehensive process focused on training, career development, and talent acquisition.The LTM functions as Risk Control officer for Portfolio Services and coordinates with Risk Asset Review.Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit------s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:
    • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them
    • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks

      Required Qualifications
      • 10+ years of account relationship management experience
      • 2+ years of management experience

        Desired Qualifications
        • Sales experience
        • Leadership experience
        • Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, compliance, and underwriting requirements
        • Extensive knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group banking products, and the credit practices/operating risks associated with them
        • Extensive knowledge and understanding of underwriting
        • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
        • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
        • Extensive commercial or specialty group middle-market relationship portfolio credit experience

          Other Desired Qualifications
          • Prior Commercial Banking experience
          • Prior experience partnering with RBCOs
