Role: Thermal Management Engineer Responsible to: Director of Manufacturing Purpose: Design, Prototyping, Sourcing and Integration of Thermal Management and HVAC Systems Components in ZEV products. Location: Gilbert AZ HQ with occasional travel to customer sites. Responsibilities Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Spec HVAC and Thermal Management ComponentsTesting HVAC Systems in multiple environments Benchmark testing incoming components and confirming specs from manufacturerDevelop Testing procedures and conduct testing for incoming vehicles and submit benchmark reports on current systems.Sourcing HVAC components Candidate Profile Essential Criteria Deep understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamics.Ability to spec thermal management components based upon requirements and specs of the rest of the system.Understands the interdependencies between components in a thermal management system.Understands pressure drop in systems and how to take advantage or minimize.Hands on experience with vehicle chassis and vehicle HVAC systems Ability to execute projects with internal and external partnersA capacity to listen, learn and implement requirements into practical applications Demonstrate follow-through in completing tasks Ability to think creatively and to present customised solutions to problems.Ability to communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Desirable Experience in building vehicle HVAC systems. MATLAB Simulink and ANSYS simulation background4-year engineering degree pertaining to thermal engineering/heat transfer/fluid dynamics or an equivalent field of study.Record of success in contribution to distributed team projects.
