At Rio Tinto, it begins with you.We are looking for a Manager - Project Controls to manage and deliver all project controls services, including development, implementation, and support of all controls functions in medium projects or a stream of a megaproject. This role will require strong communications skills to engage with stakeholders across the portfolio and will focus on the development of a team to capture, shape, and prioritize demand, and collaborate with supporting functions to deliver a value-based portfolio.Reporting to the Project Director - Resolution and working in a collaborative and exciting environment you will:
    • Develop and implement the project controls processes including all aspects of planning/ scheduling, cost control, change management, and support functions
    • Identify and implements improvement opportunities for streamlining the work process
    • Apply discipline governance and quality assurance across capital projects
    • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation, and improvement
    • Analyze and report progress to plan to provide a firm basis for strategic and operational decisions
    • Manage and develop the performance of the team in line with Rio Tinto's company values, to achieve objectives
    • Contribute to the capital projects guidance and protocols in the capital projects frameworkWhat you'll bring

      • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience

The project is a joint venture owned by Rio Tinto (55%) and BHP (45%). The ore deposit lies nearly 7,000 feet below the earth's surface. It represents one of the most significant untapped copper deposits today, with an estimated copper resource of 1.787 billion metric tonnes at an average grade of 1.5% copper. The mine has the potential to supply nearly 25% of US copper demand.The mine will create several thousand direct and indirect jobs, with an economic value of several billion dollars over the estimated mine life. Resolution will also serve as an engine for economic growth, and use best practices to create a safe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly operation.
