Position description
In conjunction with the Quality Management Staff of MCH, the
Quality and Compliance Coordinator will perform compliance reviews
at Mayo Clinic in Arizona's Transplant Center. These reviews will
include, among other activities, overseeing and evaluating the
adequacy and effectiveness of compliance processes and controls.
Individual will be responsible for researching, documenting, and
communicating processes for compliance with regulatory matters
(Joint Commission, ESRD, UNOS, and CMS). Individual will work with
Transplant Center Leadership to initiate and aid in the development
and implementation of policies and procedures related to compliance
and quality. Participation in quality and compliance administrative
duties will include developing/monitoring education programs and
risk assessments. The American Nurses Association Nursing (ANA)
Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics
for Nurses provide the basis for care.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate or master's degree in nursing required. Minimum one
year of progressive solid organ or BMT transplant experience
required.
Additional qualifications
Master's degree in related healthcare field preferred. A working
knowledge of Mayo Clinic governance and organization is desirable.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills for problem solving. Demonstrated
successful collaboration with counterparts throughout the
institution. Strong conflict resolution skills required.
Ability to function objectively in sensitive and stressful
situations, work autonomously, demonstrate critical thinking
skills, manage stress, anticipate, improvise, and synthesize
extensive information to focus the issue. An understanding of UNOS,
CMS, FACT, CIBMTR, Joint Commission, and ESRD regulatory
requirements strongly preferred, and the ability to assimilate and
interpret policy and regulations into operational activities
required. Demonstrated clinical nursing competence, leadership, and
management skills, along with quality assessment/improvement
techniques and tools. Knowledge of accreditation and licensure
standards. Must be highly motivated, flexible, innovative,
self-directed, and able to manage time effectively. Must be able to
establish and maintain effective working relationships and
accomplish goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
required. Strong computer skills preferred.
License or certification
Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required.
