Quality Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Gilbert, Arizona.Job Description & Requirements

We want to reward you for giving us a chance, so when you sign for your first assignment (of 13 weeks or more) with us from now until August 31st we will include a $1,000 bonus on your first paycheck.**Submissions cannot have worked in Arizona for the past 12 months/1 year as a perm staff employee and does not have a currently active position at an acute care hospital or hospital system in Arizona (meaning even staff PRN).

    **Proof of COVID vaccine is required prior to start or declination form can be filled out with appropriate supporting documentation from clergy or M.D., as well as hospital approval.

    Unit: MS/Tele 1B
    # Beds: 22
    Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4
    Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): ACLS/BLS
    Common diagnosis / Types of patients: General medical patients: Hyperkalemia, Pneumonia, GI bleed, ETOH withdrawal, post-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring.
    Experience or 'Must have' skills: Telemetry monitoring; able interpret rythms, familiar with managing cardiac drips without titration
    Are RN's required to titrate drips: No-- maintain (set rate) or decreasing only
    Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Cleviprex, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex
    Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: GE Monitors. Tele monitoring is centralized, but RNs must be able to read & interpret EKGs because they are required to sign off & document the strips from the monitor room.
    Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: CN on the unit. Normally, the charge nurse does not take a patient, but may if needed to support the floor.
    Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios: 1 Aide (may be used interchangebly with an RN that can also resource). Aide Ratio 1:16
    RT/Equipment (i.e., Cpap, Bipap, High Flow, vents, etc.): RT does all nebs, ABGs, etc-------RNs collaborate with the RT assigned to this unit to manage patient needs. No High Flow, BiPaP/CPAP, or vents.
    Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 12 hr shifts; 7-7; Self-scheduling
    Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
    Holiday Requirements: Work into perm staff rotation.
    Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No call; however, the facility may ask the traveler if they would like to pick up extra shifts. The only time travelers/staff are on stand-by is if they are already scheduled & they are pushed back. This would be very unusual with their staffing needs.
    Floating Requirements?: Tele units, Med/Surg units, Observation units as needed
    Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: Navy
