  • Job Details
  • A hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced Periop nurse for a travel assignment.
  • The right candidate will have 2+ years of experience and will float between pre and post-op and would also float to Endo (only for recoveries), as needed.
    • Job Requirements
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS and AZ license or compact.
    • Float between pre and post-op and float to Endo (only for recoveries), as needed.
    • Call requirement: 2x12 hour call shifts or 1x24 hour per month, 4x weekday overnight call shifts per month.
    • Submissions cannot have worked in Arizona for the past 12 months/one year as a permanent staff employee and does not have a currently active position at an acute care hospital or hospital system in Arizona (meaning even staff PRN).
    • A dysrhythmia exam is required prior to start (2 max attempts).
    • A pass/fail Sim Lab is required on Day 1 of orientation (study guides provided with first day instructions).
      • Schedule Information
      • 4x10 hour shifts varied between (0530-2200).
      • Call requirement 2x12 hour call shifts or 1x24 hour per month.
      • 4x weekday overnight call shifts per month.
      • Some call shifts required, usually 6 per month.
      • Mon-Fri, start/end times will vary a bit each day; standby required weeknights/weekends/holidays.

        • Unit: Pre/Post, PACU, Endo
        • # beds: preop-12, PACU-12, Endo-15
        • Ratios: 2pt/1RN
        • EMR: Cerner
        • Charge Nurse Positions & Names Removed
        • Nurse Aides in Pre- 2PCT, PACU-1PCT, Endo-endo tech in rooms
        • Weekend on-call rotation.
        • Holidays on-call rotation.
        • Scrub Color: Dark blue
        • Tele, Vents in PACU required.
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house is available.
        • IV Team: ATU helps out with Lines when needed.
        • RT 24/7 available.
        • Pharmacy 24/7 available.
        • Floating in Periop locations as needed: Pre-op/PACU/Endo.
        • Floor specific orientation is provided.
        • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Pre and Post-surgical patients, General, ortho, spine, gyn, endo, vascular, cysto.
          • Additional Details
          • ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required.
          • Pass/fail Sim Lab is required on Day 1 of orientation (study guides provided with first day instructions).
          • Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs prior to acceptance of a position, maximum attempts is 2.
