Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/03/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Neuro Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks required • Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs • Patient ratio of 1:2 in ICU, may float to tele units with 4:1 ratio • Required to float between all ICU floors and all Tele Units • May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts • Must have 18 months of Neuro ICU experience minimum • Level 1 Trauma experience required • EVD (External Ventricular Drain) experience required • 2 years ICU experience in large facility (450 beds) required • 3-6 months travel experience preferred • First time travelers accepted • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS • Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed) • Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation • Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes • 2 shifts floor-specific orientation provided • Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience • Work with patients requiring critical care with neurological diagnoses • Handle cases including craniotomies, brain tumor removal, ablations, brain biopsies, spine surgeries • Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors • Must have own vehicle for travel • Natural hair color required, no facial piercings • Men must be clean shaven for fit testing • Scrub color: steel grey for neuro floors • Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility: This major medical center houses the world's largest neurological disease treatment and research institution, consistently ranked as one of the best neurosurgical training centers in the United States.
