Are you an accomplished pediatric cardiac sonographer who is
passionate about patient care and would like to join a vibrant,
expanding team? At Banner Health, medical imaging is essential to
providing top-notch patient care. Join us! You must be able to work
in a dynamic, expanding, and fast-paced accredited pediatric echo
lab as a registered pediatric cardiac sonographer. At our several
hospital campuses, we offer services in both inpatient and
outpatient clinic settings, including satellite clinics with
portable equipment. Traveling and being flexible at the last minute
are requirements. You can choose from a variety of assignments
depending on whether you live in the East or West Valley.
Transthoracic echocardiograms must be performed for both adult and
pediatric patients with basic to complicated congenital heart
disease. Make use of your superior understanding of cardiac
physiology and illness to make sure that preliminary reports
contain detailed information and that important discoveries are
communicated promptly. Exams must be conducted in acute hospital
settings, such as the operating room, cardiac catheter lab,
emergency department, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units,
and other inpatient units. Opportunities are available to act as a
preceptor for students or new employees as necessary as well to
learn and perform Fetal Echocardiograms and Transesophageal
Echocardiograms. Must be open to taking holiday and after-hours
calls at various hospital locations. Strong time management
abilities and outstanding people skills are required. Call bonuses,
working 4–10 hour shifts are all excellent incentives. Required
national certification from ARDMS or CCI Preferred certifications
from, RVT for Vascular, RCS for echo. You will work along side 8
Physicians/APP's and a robust team of support staff members.
Location : The West Valley Float position is primarily based out of
the Glendale clinic, which serves as the main home location. The
role also provides scheduled coverage at the Estrella clinic twice
per week on Mondays and Wednesdays. This position works a team of
Sonographers that alternate coverage between the Glendale Clinic,
Estrella Clinic, twice per week (Monday and Wednesday) and will be
working to help with coverage with a team for our Banner
Thunderbird Medical Center, Banner Del Webb Medical Center, and
Banner Estrella Medical Center. This is a full-time position,
scheduled five days per week, with Glendale as the primary clinic
location. Hours/Shift: This position will start with 5- 8 hr shift
M-F during training. After training we will offer to keep 5- 8's or
4-10's. Minimum Qualifications: Two-year associate degree in Allied
Health or related field required. Requires national certification
in the area of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic
Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing
International (CCI) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE), or a Registered Congenital
Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS). BLS certification required. Requires
three years of diagnostic cardiology cardiac sonography experience
in Peds. Must demonstrate high quality skills as a cardiac
sonographer, acts as a clinical resource, has ability to
effectively train others, promote quality and efficiency, and
demonstrates an expertise in cardiac sonic imaging and is
knowledgeable in accreditation standards. At Banner Medical Group,

mission of providing excellent patient care. POSITION SUMMARY This
position performs echocardiography procedures utilized in the
diagnosis of congenital and acquired heart disease in the pediatric
population and congenital heart disease in adult patients. This
position performs in accordance with department/facility policies,
procedures and protocols. This position ensures optimal
care/treatment to patient population. This position may provide
these services in multiple locations as designated by department
scope. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Performs echocardiograms on pediatric
patients and adults with congenital heart disease utilizing
department specific protocols. Demonstrates the knowledge and
skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the
patient being served. 2. Records, interrogates, quantifies, and
measures both the presence of normal and abnormal anatomy or
physiology in a manner consistent with approved standards. Produces
high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent
patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and
maintains accurate preliminary reports and documentation. 3.
Performs procedures by following and verifying referring providers’
orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies
according to established policy and procedures. 4. Educates
patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be
performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all
interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and
quality patient outcomes. 5. Demonstrates competence in assisting
with invasive/interventional procedures in accordance with
established practices. 6. Performs and evaluates equipment quality
control measurements and maintenance requirements. Demonstrates the
ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to
repair or maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe
environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to
safety policies. 7. Accountable for the ethical, legal,
professional and certification responsibilities related to the
practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work
information. 8. Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the
department. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of
supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services. May
perform other duties as assigned. 9. Independently performs
prescribed procedures in accordance with department/facility
policies, procedures and protocols to patients. Internal customers:
All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff,
medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary
health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health
agencies, patients and family members. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires national certification in the area of specialty from the
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or
from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in Pediatric
Echocardiography (RDCS-PE), or a Registered Congenital Cardiac
Sonographer (RCCS). Non pediatric certified candidates must
complete pediatric certification within 12 - 18 months of hire, as
approved by manager. BLS certification required. This position
requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with one to two
years of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication
skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in an acute care
setting within the past 12 months as a Pediatric Cardiac
Sonographer is preferred. Additional related education and/or
