Provide specialized acute care as a Stepdown (PCU) Registered Nurse managing patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical services. This role requires expert monitoring and intervention for up to 20 patients, including post-open heart surgery and critical cardiac cases, within a fast-paced, technologically advanced unit. Location Positioned in Chino Valley, AZ, this opportunity allows you to work within 50 miles of your location. The setting includes a 14-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU 16) with double occupancy rooms and is part of a multidisciplinary critical care service line supported by hospitalists. Key Responsibilities Monitor and provide direct nursing care for patients with cardiac conditions including STEMI, NSTEMI, post-cardiac surgery, chronic ventilator needs, and alcohol withdrawal management. Utilize advanced equipment such as Philips Cardiac Monitors, Telemetry, Medtronic Pacemakers, Cerner EMR, and Sigma Spectrum IV pumps for patient care management. Administer IV cardiac medications, manage peritoneal dialysis, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, and perform arterial or venous sheath care and transvenous pacing. Float to ICU and Med-Surg Telemetry units as needed, with responsibilities including arterial lines and sheath pulls. Collaborate with a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. Adhere to professional appearance standards, wearing navy scrubs and maintaining business-appropriate hair color. Qualifications Active, unrestricted RN license in Arizona with current ACLS and BLS certifications. Minimum of 1 year of PCU experience with demonstrated skills in EKG interpretation and cardiac-specific interventions. Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract signing (minimum score 80%). Candidates cannot have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN within a year for any facility associated with the same healthcare system. Schedule 12-hour shifts, either 7 AM7 PM or 7 PM7 AM. Minimum of 3 shifts per week; option to schedule 4 shifts per week after discussion.
