A Software/Computer/Electrical Engineer, motivated to learn and excel in an embedded software development environment. Qualified candidates would participate in software requirements analysis and specification, test planning from unit to system level, planning and performing software qualification tests and writing test reports as part of teams developing software for both existing and in-development spacecraft programs.In addition to developing software, candidates should be familiar with basic electrical engineering practices as they apply to integration and debugging of systems in a laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in C/C++ programming, hands on experience with real-time operating systems (VxWorks) and be knowledgeable of embedded software development, integration and test of aerospace avionics systems. An understanding of waterfall, spiral and Agile software development processes and continuous integration using Jenkins is valuable. Familiarity and recent use of other open source tools to perform software rapid prototyping is also desirable.Primary duties and responsibilities:
  • Participate in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review and software acceptance reviews. Manages and analyzes requirements, and designs, develops and tests complex software systems.
  • Make frequent contact with customers, both internal and external, concerning design, development and maintenance of software. Interact with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters.
  • Work directly with integration and test and other engineering disciplines to resolve complex spacecraft system problems
  • Develop embedded avionics software in support of Spacecraft solutions.Basic Qualifications:
    • Software: C/C++
    • Basic understanding of software version control; familiarity with common software configuration management (Subversion, Git), problem tracking (Jira, Trac), scripting languages (Python, Perl) or continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Bamboo)
    • U.S. citizen
    • Minimum of 2 years related experiencePreferred Qualifications:
      • Embedded Software: VxWorks, Micro Controller Development or CubeSat
      • Bachelor's Degree

        Salary Range: 71100 - 106700

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
