Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated
professional to fill the position of Meter Reader I in Water.
The Meter Reader I reports to the Water Meter Supervisor. The
primary function of this position is to read meters visual and by
radio signal on assigned routes and records information with
electronic handheld or mobile devices. Performs installations,
inspections and repairs on water meters, meter registers,
electronic radio transmitters, meter boxes, lids, connections and
route maintenance. Additional essential duties include, but not

- Residential or commercial " to 2"meter change out;
- Notify customers of all meter change outs;
- Investigate zero consumption and non-read exception;
- Meter transceiver unit maintenance and route maintenance.
You are someone who effectively exceeds customer needs by
building productive relationships, and taking responsibility for
customer satisfaction and loyalty. You actively participate as a
member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals
and produce quality outcomes. You are committed to our safety

and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently while

love what they do! Here are some position requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months of experience in reading any type of meter
- Grade I Water Distribution ADEQ Certificationwithin 12 months
- Valid AZ Driver's License
This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt -
eligible for overtime compensation.
- Knowledge of and skill in various equipment and hand tools
associated with meters.
- Safety operation and maintenance practices.
- Technology associated with meter reading.
- Basic operation, maintenance, plumbing service of water
- Traffic laws and rules involved in vehicle and equipment
- Proficient in computer hardware and software related to
