Group. We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking an
Industrial Painter -for a prominent client of ours. This position
is located Gilbert, AZ. Details for the position are as
follows:
Job Description:
- This position will be a direct hire opportunity with multiple
positions available on multiple shifts for one of the top companies
that produces fire equipment, HVAC systems, and security equipment
for buildings all over the world. Benefits will take effect within
30-60 days of hire date.
- Shifts: 1st shift: MON-FRI 5AM-1:30PM - 2nd shift: MON-THUR
2PM-12:30AM -- Weekend: FRI-SUN 5AM-5:30PM - pay differentials is
2nd shift receives an additional 10% on top of their base rate and
Weekend shift receives 15% on top of their base rate when working
those shift hours
- The primary role of the Painter is to provide all required
materials to each department before they are required.
Responsibilities will include identifying potential safety hazards,
selecting, or mixing the appropriate paint, and reading and
interpreting SOPs. In the course of his/her duties, the Industrial
Painter will inspect surfaces for contamination prior to coating
and identify and employ methods that will reduce exposure to
hazardous chemicals from the paint.
Primary Duties/Accountabilities:
- Ability to perform moderate physical effort working
continuously with light weight or frequently with average weight
materials.
- Working with drawings, process sheets, specifications, painting
instructions.
- Paint in booth, on floor, or product, ladders, and
scaffolds.
- Mixes paint to proper viscosity, measure, and epoxy powders,
and thins down as required.
- Spray paint various primers, enamels, epoxies, protective
compounds
- Clean, wipe up excess paint, remove masking, visually check for
runs, shadows, improper coverage, touch up, check paint
thickness.
- Clean, maintain spray gun, and paint system.
- Tend and operate to painting equipment used to spray
products.
- Body work and remediation of sheet metal prior to and after
paint application.
- Prepare and apply stencils, decals, and other decorative items
on the finished product.
- Inspect surfaces for contamination prior to application of
paint.
- Knowledge of chemical application techniques using
specification sheet.
- Paint using spray, pressure pots and SOPs.
- Selecting and mixing the appropriate paint.
- Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when
necessary.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, especially health
and safety rules, use of personal protective equipment.
- Other duties as required
Working Conditions:
- This position requires shop work. When working in the shop, one
must exercise caution as this environment presents many naturally
occurring and potentially worker-produced hazards. Safety policies
must be always adhered to. Appropriate personal protective
equipment (i.e., safety glasses, hard-toed safety shoes or boots,
etc.) must be always worn where required.
- It is very important that the incumbent of this position can
work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing
time, completing tasks, and working safely.
- Employee may be required to work in potentially hazardous
environments requiring protective equipment.
- Employee may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals, and high
levels of noise.
- Employee may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; may
have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting.
- Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment.
- Overtime as required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Experience with hand tools, paint gauge, spray painting, and
appropriate material handling equipment.
- Previous experience painting sheet metal.
- Experience using a spray gun and pressure pot.
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing,
with an ability to read and interpret SOPs.
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies more
than 25 pounds.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
