Job Description:
SUMMARY: The Team Coordinator is a primary leadership position
that reports to the Operations Leader. The Coordinator is
responsible for leading, engaging and assisting all Operator roles
on shift, while holding safety of the team as the first priority,
Lean activities and initiatives are sustained, and Quality and
operating goals are met or exceeded. The position works in a
team-based, self-managed operation with high levels of shift
interaction to coordinate work in a team-based, self-managed
operation with high levels of team interaction to effectively solve
problems, perform production level maintenance, and utilize
electronic driven production systems. The primary focus is to lead
a Safe and efficient operation which meets or exceeds the
department goals. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations and
verifies the team members do as well.
- Establish a work environment characterized by mutual trust and
respect, open and honest communications, teamwork and a passion for
winning.
- Coordinate and coach shift/department huddle process to ensure
all team members are adequately communicated to
- Act as team/shift coach and coordinator for employee related
development, issue resolution, and provide input for performance
assessment
- Support/Provide on-the-job training for all plant team
members
- Verifies that products are made per the specifications and
standard work, and that products meet or exceed all quality
standards. Also enforces Hold Tag procedures.
- Reviews process and quality checks and analyzes production or
quality reports. Works with appropriate personnel on any
irregularities, to prepare a root cause failure analysis of Quality
or scrap issue, and verify adjustments are made to correct and
actions put in place to prevent in the future.
- Makes production changes per schedule or per direction from the
operations leader or production scheduler.
- Responsible for filling required staffing needs and assigns
team resources as required.
- Takes charge of people if machine goes down, and assigns value
added work.
- Monitor and measure upset conditions, and help team respond
safely, and effectively.
- Addresses any process or equipment issues in the area, taking
corrective action, or contacting and working with Maintenance to
resolve, as required. Pulls small teams together to solve issues,
to enroll the team, as needed. Notifies the appropriate personnel
of the process equipment or quality problems and what corrective
actions were taken.
- Works with the supervisor and line team to develop and execute
countermeasure plans to address any goals not being met. Track
metrics to ensure improvements are meeting plan.
- Teaches, mentors and coaches team members to raise the level of
performance in safety, quality, procedures and goals to optimal
levels, always striving to engage and grow their team. If job
performance cannot be coached to acceptable levels, then elevate to
Shift Leader for support and resolution.
- Works with line team members to identify present and future
training gaps, and teams with the supervisor, training and safety
stewards to address gap through training, refresher training, or on
the job coaching.
- Assists in preventive maintenance, minor maintenance and
adjustment of assigned equipment as needed. Verifies operator based
care P.M.s are completed and documented as scheduled, and that
operators work with the maintenance team during any machine
operation issues to safely resolve.
- Submit work request into SAP system, and teaches other Line
team members, how to submit work requests.
- Backfills the other Team Coordinators for Vacation, Scheduled
coverage, Kaizens, or as requested.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the
job as directed by the Operations Leader. SKILLS AND ABILITIES The
employee should hold the following abilities:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
- Must possess computer and control system experience and
abilities
- Must possess strong communication and organizational
skills
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong internal and external Quality and customer
service skills
- Must work well in team environment
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Must be able to secure and maintain fork lift drivers
license
- Must be motivated to safely achieve goals, and able to work
independently
- Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES The employee must be able
to:
- Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
- Can use Microsoft Office software (Excel, e-mail, PowerPoint,
Word), or is able to learn
- Operate SAP system, and I-POP system
- Operate Machine Control an d Process Explorer Aspen Tech
software, or is able to learn EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE The
employee should have the following:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Related experience and/or training in an industrial
environment
- Leadership/Coaching experience
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be drug and alcohol free ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT This position requires:
- Regular attendance on site and the ability to work varying or
rotating shifts :
