The playing fields are built as scaled-down replicas of famous ballparks such as Arizona's Chase Field, Boston's Fenway Park, New York's Yankee Stadium and Chicago's Wrigley Field. The replica fields are designed to accommodate youth baseball, youth fast pitch softball, and adult slow pitch softball. While the indoor soccer pavilion can hold soccer leagues, special events and other turf based sports. Gilbert places a high value on the availability of sports activities and facilities, as evidenced in the inventory of sports league participation found, and as evidenced in the high level of maintenance care found in the review of existing sports facilities.-- Elliot District Park has the opportunity to be a premier tournament facility attracting players locally, regionally and the state. The Recreation Supervisor - Sports Complex reports to the Parks and Recreation Manager.-- The primary function of this position is to supervise, oversee and evaluate the work of recreation coordinators, senior maintenance worker, grounds maintenance workers, and administrative support staff, along with indirect supervision of temporary/seasonal employees.-- This position will provide communication, guidance and conflict resolution skills related to employee and patron concerns and HR issues. They will also develop, manage, monitor and oversee personnel, operating and capital improvement budgets for the sports complex to include expenditures and revenues, reviewing and approving invoices, purchasing cards and purchase orders, evaluating RFP's, contract management and tracking employee hours (Kronos) and expenditures.-- This position will be responsible for the efficient and effective scheduling of the facility to include Town programs and events, private promoter tournaments and events. Additional responsibilities will include (but not limited to): Establish, promote and foster positive working relationships with outside community groups and organizations to successfully schedule, utilize and promote the sports complex. Develop all programming, scheduling/booking and maintenance/repairs of the sports complex. Oversight of contractors providing services within the facility including construction, maintenance, concessions and services. Manage assigned facilities and assets; review and approve requests to address equipment and facility maintenance needs and repairs both existing and new; coordinate maintenance and repair as needed; work cooperatively with other departments to schedule building repairs; prepare and/or approve quotes for service. Meet with attorney on facility/program legal issues, projects and sensitive situations involving facility patrons and program participants.-- Work closely with the police department, park ranger team, and facility work group on addressing issues involving disorderly conduct, assaults, theft, vandalism, etc. within facility locations. Interview, hire, train, supervise, guide and evaluate full-time division staff; process and approve employee payroll and contract employee payroll; exercise conflict resolution, listening and communication skills to process employee concerns and problems, direct the work of others, counsel, discipline and conduct performance reviews. Develop strategic and operational plans for the facility and programs; establish goals, objectives and measurements for assessing performance and operational effectiveness; develop and implement policies, procedures, rules and regulations, calendars and timelines; administer specific-- programs and develop schedules. Three years of experience supervising a multi-field sports complex, and/or recreation programs, staff and resources.
