For the health of our community we are proud to announce that we are a tobacco-free camp H Responsibilities Job Summary: To operate as part of the anesthesia team by assisting the anesthesia provider with quality patient care in the administration and maintenance of general and regional anesthesia by assessment, monitoring, and education; maintaining, calibrating, and trouble-shooting the various equipment used; and stocking and maintaining par levels of all anesthesia supplies and drugs. Equipment Operation: Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots all equipment according to instructions and the protocols of equipment manuals. Performs pre-surgical preparation, set-up and equipment testing. Stocks anesthesia supplies and drugs in all operating and delivery suites. Performs arterial and intravenous catheter insertion and autotransfusion. Assists with induction/emersion, Swan Ganz-CVP insertion and regional blocks, calibrate and support of technical, janitorial and logistic in all service areas. Cleans and disinfects anesthesia equipment after use. Maintains adequate supply of medical oxygen, nitrous oxide and air. Makes rounds in the Intensive Care Units, PACU, Endoscopy and Labor & Delivery to keep current on inventory of anesthesia equipment. Assists/Performs: Swan Ganz and CVP placement and preparation. A-line placement and preparation. Spinal - preparation. Epidural - preparation. Pain/regional blocks preparation. Blood patch preparation and sterile draw. Blood draw - labs. IV/arterial placement. Cell saver placement. Arterial blood gas collection. Activation clotting time preparation/process. Assists with anesthetic induction/emersion, Swan Gant and CVP insertion and blocks, calibrates and administers patient physiologic monitoring. Practices good sterile technique. RNDH Qualifications Minimum: Experience: One year of experience in the health or patient care related field. Six (6) months experience working in an OR preferred Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia course, IV competency and Arterial line insertion competency completed with 6 months of hire. Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association Only) ACLS within 6 months of hire.
